Our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is structured around four key themes, as outlined below:
Towne has a relatively low environmental impact and as such, our biggest environmental impacts come from travel, energy and consumables (including paper, water consumption and waste management). We take steps to improve and measure our environmental impact through initiatives carried out by building management teams and addressing the social and environmental impacts of our core precuts and services as mentioned above. Towne is committed to minimizing its carbon footprint, both now and in the future and will strive to continually improve our performance through the application of the most effect environmental standards.
We are committed to a transparent, accountable approach to business across all areas. Our governance policies include: board and committee charters, risk management and code of ethics policies.
Towne is actively engaged with local schools and youth centers. Towne has demonstrated its commitment by participating in donations of ‘scrap’ material to local schools and youth centers; active engagement in clothing drives for local outreach programs and promoting volunteerism.
Our employees are instrumental to our ongoing success and profitability. We are committed to providing a positive and engaging work environment. This will allow us to improve our knowledge base and encourage employee retention, and is supported through a suite of policies guiding this approach. In addition, employee engagement surveys and reward and recognition programs are used to measure and encourage employee satisfaction. Implementing innovative and proactive strategies in support of this policy will require the continual support of our shareholders, employees, suppliers, customers and strategic partners, who together will share the responsibility of meeting our social, environmental, health and safety objectives. We will have a cross-functional CSR Team responsible for the assessing, planning, designing, and implementing activities. The company will set short and long term goals, promote our programs internally and externally, and continually monitor our progress.
