- Towne Business Service was founded by Harry Schmidt, specializing in typing letters and duplicating forms for merchants in the Pasadena area.
1960
- Relocated to Orange County and began working with high profile accounts such as Disneyland, Beckman Instruments, The Irvine Company and The Koll Company.
1970
- Towne begins to warehouse and ship client's promotional literature worldwide.
1980
- Towne pioneers interactive computerized collateral
management.
1990
- Expansion to new corporate headquarters in Santa Ana, California.
1996
- Towne introduces the use of web processing.
1997
- Towne expands digital imaging capabilities and capacity with new continuous and cut sheet printers.
1998
- Begins re-engineering and automating work flow processes to increase efficiency and turnaround time. Expands distribution points throughout the United States and Latin America with the opening of a new facility in Florida and strategic partnerships in Indiana and Mexico City.
- Towne creates a limited liability corporation called Allpoints Communications, which creates a network of strategic service providers.
1999
- Towne forms a new division to perform e-commerce product fulfillment.
Ships its first e-commerce order successfully.
2000-Present
- Towne purchases a top-tier warehouse management system to streamline its fulfillment operations, optimize its client's materials and allow connectivity to web based order management systems.Towne launches Digital-Print-on-Demand (DPOD) division to enhance and support the Materials Optimization strategy. Towne collaborates with FirstLogic to develop a data application called Job Streaming System (JSS), which makes data processing quicker and more efficient.
- Towne installs Windowbook Software, which gives Towne the ability to process mail.dat data files.
- Towne installs software for manifest mail processing,
which can save clients postage costs. This is possible because now mail pieces
do not have to be of the same weight, processing category or class of mail
to meet the minimum volume requirements.
- Towne launches new robust web based order management system for fulfillment
clients.
- Towne enhances lettershop with the purchase of new high speed / high resolution inkjets with 2.75 inch print heads.
